Join us for our VIP Fundraising Dinner with Manjusha Kulkarni!
We’re excited to continue SABA North America Foundation's VIP Dinner series with 2022 Hero Award Winner and Benefit Keynote Speaker Manjusha Kulkarni. This year's dinner will be at Rooh - SF, a Michelin-rated restaurant with "an innovative menu that fuses the subcontinent’s myriad flavors with modern restaurant staples". Our VIP Dinner event offers a chance to engage in conversation with Manju accompanied by great food and drink. This is a separately ticketed event. Each seat is $375 and supports Foundation's efforts to ensure access to justice in the South Asian diaspora across the United States and Canada.
Manju is the Executive Director of AAPI Equity Alliance, which serves and represents the 1.5 million Asian American and Pacific Islanders in Los Angeles County. In 2020, she co-founded Stop AAPI Hate, the nation's leading aggregator of COVID-19-related hate incidents against AAPIs.
Time Magazine recognized Manju as one of the 100 Most Influential People of 2021 for her work with Stop AAPI Hate. Her work has been also been recognized by Bloomberg/Business Week and featured by numerous national and ethnic news outlets. With her Stop AAPI Hate co-founders, Manju was awarded the 2021 Webby Social Movement of the Year. In 2014, Manju received the White House Champions of Change award from President Obama for her dedication to improving health care access for Asian American communities.
Rooh, with additional locations in Palo Alto and New Delhi, is a progressive Indian restaurant in SoMa. Executive Chef Sujan Sarkar provides a decidedly modern take on Indian flavors while paying homage to the epicurian traditions of the subcontinent.
From the owner of Rooh: Rooh is a progressive Indian Table and Bar located in the heart of San Francisco's burgeoning SoMa district. Meaning soul or spirit, Rooh brings the spirit of India to San Francisco through the restaurant experience. Renowned Executive Chef, Sujan Sarkar, delicately balances rich traditional flavors with fresh local ingredients prepared with modern techniques. The unique cocktail list features a list inspired by ancient Ayurvedic wisdom and the six tastes, or rasa, sweet, sour, salty, pungent, astringent and bitter. A vibrant dining destination Rooh showcases the innovation of urban India for locals and visitors alike.
